Microneedling in South Jordan, UT

WHAT IS A Microneedling ?

If over-the-counter skin treatments aren’t proving effective, but you aren’t ready for surgical procedures, consider minimally invasive procedures for skin rejuvenation, like microneedling. Our team is pleased to offer microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) at our office in South Jordan, UT. Microneedling uses many fine needles to safely and effectively make micro-injuries in the skin. The micro-injuries prompt the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that boost the overall health and appearance of your complexion. Easily performed with other skin treatments, such as vitamin serums or platelet-rich plasma (PRP), microneedling may help minimize scars, pores, and stretch marks. Schedule a consultation at The Plastics Clinic to hear more about the results of microneedling and ways to customize your procedure for your skin needs and goals.

What to Expect From Microneedling ?

You may have mild redness and swelling for about a day; however, this should fade quickly on its own. It can take about 1 – 2 months as the collagen and elastin levels increase until you see significant changes in the health and appearance of your skin. You should plan to get around 4 – 6 maintenance treatments every 4 – 6 weeks for optimal results and lasting skin health.

Microneedling  FAQS

Can I combine other treatments with microneedling?

During microneedling, channels make it easier for treatments to penetrate the deeper layers. That’s why microneedling is commonly combined with other skin treatments, like special serums or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). During your consultation, our experienced practitioners and aestheticians can explain which treatments may be performed along with microneedling and which ones best align with your skin goals.

Most patients get 3 – 6 treatments to get optimal results. However, the number of treatments you require will depend on your skin’s condition and goals. Microneedling can be safely performed every 4 – 6 weeks as needed. During your consultation, a The Plastics Clinic team member will estimate the number of treatments you want after assessing your skin and listening to your goals. Once your skin goals are reached, we recommend getting maintenance treatments about twice a year.

For the most part, microneedling is appropriate for all skin types and tones. Skin injuries created by microneedling are minor, so there are very few side effects afterward. Microneedling can be applied to most skin areas, including the arms, face, neck, chest, and legs. Microneedling is not recommended if you’ve been on Accutane recently or have an open wound, active skin infection, or herpes simplex. In addition, you might not be able to get microneedling if you’re pregnant, nursing, or getting radiation therapy.
