What is a Lymphatic Massage?
Lymphatic massage is a therapeutic treatment that stimulates the lymphatic system, a critical part of the body’s immune and circulatory systems. The lymphatic system is responsible for transporting lymph fluid, which contains white blood cells, proteins, and waste products, throughout the body. This system helps remove toxins, excess fluid, and cellular debris from tissues while supporting immune function and maintaining healthy fluid balance.
Lymphatic massage uses gentle hand movements to encourage lymph fluid to move toward lymph nodes, where it can be filtered and eventually eliminated from the body. The technique involves light pressure and rhythmic strokes that follow the natural pathways of lymphatic drainage. Because lymph vessels lie just beneath the skin, the pressure used is much lighter than traditional massage therapies.
