Clogged pores, dark spots, and uneven or rough textures can significantly age the skin and diminish the brilliance of a once youthful complexion. At The Plastics Clinic, we offer patients HydraFacials, an innovative cosmetic treatment used to gently exfoliate and revitalize the skin for a refined, smoother appearance. Board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Jerry Chidester works with men and women near South Jordan, UT.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a noninvasive procedure that utilizes a series of treatments to remove dead skin cells and debris, smooth out uneven tissue, and moisturize the skin for a cleaner, more brilliant look. Appropriate for almost all skin types, HydraFacial uses innovative technology to deliver nutrient-filled serums to protect and hydrate the skin. At The Plastics Clinic, Dr. Chidester evaluates your skin type and dermatological conditions to determine if a HydraFacial is a right treatment for you.

How does a HydraFacial differ from a spa facial?

Like traditional spa facials, the HydraFacial removes dead skin cells and debris caught in the pores to cleanse the skin and encourage new skin cell growth. However, the HydraFacial delivers a series of treatments in less than 30 minutes, including:

  • Exfoliation of dead skin cells

  • Extraction of debris and dead skin

  • Cleansing and moisturizing

  • Nutrition and antioxidant-filled serum delivery

Typically, HydraFacial removes debris and dead skin with less force than a traditional spa facial, which reduces redness and skin irritation after treatment is complete.

Benefits of a HydraFacial

Men and women can experience numerous benefits from a HydraFacial, including:

  • Unclogged pores

  • Reduced fine lines and other signs of aging

  • Diminished sun and dark spots

  • Decreased acne outbreaks

  • A brighter and smoother complexion

  • Healthier, hydrated skin

Candidates for a HydraFacial

Ideal candidates for a HydraFacial may include men and women who:

  • Have enlarged or clogged pores

  • Have mild to moderate fine lines and wrinkles

  • Have sun or dark spots

  • Have textured or uneven skin

  • Have sensitive skin

  • Are in good, general health

Dr. Chidester will review your medical history and personal goals to determine if a HydraFacial is right for you. Patients with certain skin conditions or medical issues may not qualify for treatment.

How the treatment process works

HydraFacial treatments take place within the comforts of one of our private treatment rooms at The Plastics Clinic. The wand applicator is applied to the face to gently exfoliate and suction debris and dead skin cells. This same applicator technology is used to penetrate the tissue and infuse moisturizing serums to nourish and hydrate the skin. Once your treatment is complete, you may leave our clinic and resume normal daily activities.

How do I care for my skin after a HydraFacial?

Unlike some spa facials, patients are permitted to apply makeup after a HydraFacial treatment to conceal any temporary redness. Patients are encouraged to avoid excessive sun exposure, chemical peels, and exfoliation treatments for a certain period after treatment. Consult with Dr. Chidester to discuss what to expect after your customized HydraFacial treatment.

How many HydraFacials should I get?

Individuals should expect to notice their HydraFacial results within 3 – 7 days after their initial treatment. To maintain cosmetic results, Dr. Chidester recommends scheduling HydraFacial treatments every 4 – 6 weeks.
